Doris Day | Price Unknown, Carmel-by-the-Sea

Doris Day was an actress and singer. She started her career in 1939 with Les Brown & His Band of Renown. Together, they released two number 1 hits: Sentimental Journey and My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time. After leaving the band, Day recorded more than 650 songs to her credit. She had a prolific solo career from 1947 to 1967. Day has also appeared in Hollywood’s Golden Age films, including 1948’s Romance of the High Seas, and 1953’s Calamity Jane.

In 2020, Day’s Carmel-by-the-Sea home was included among her properties that were auctioned. The house was painted yellow and surrounded by oak trees, flowers, and gardens. With Doris Day having such a soft spot for animals in her heart, the proceeds from the sale went to the Doris Day Animal Foundation.
