English actor born on September 19, 1948, Jeremy John Irons started his acting career back in 1969 and has made appearances in many West End theater productions, including Macbeth, The Taming of the Shrew, and Richard II. His first major film role was in the 1981 British romantic drama film The French Lieutenant’s Woman, for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor.
